Submissions by Editors and Editorial Board Members

Enki Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences applies the same review standards to every article it publishes, with no exceptions or preferential treatment. This policy governs submissions made by the Editor-in-Chief, the Managing Editor, members of the editorial and advisory boards, and anyone else with access to reviewer information or editorial decisions.

Principles

  1. The submission is subject to the same criteria and to the double-blind peer review procedure described on the "Peer Review Process" page, and is screened for plagiarism with the same software as all other submissions.
  2. The author takes no part in any stage of handling the submission: they do not select reviewers, view reviewer identities or reports, or take part in the editorial decision. Their access to the submission record in the platform is restricted to the extent the platform permits.
  3. The submission is handled by an independent handling editor from the editorial board who has no direct collaboration with the author and no conflict of interest. If the author is the Editor-in-Chief, the Managing Editor or a board member designated by the editorial board handles the submission; if the author is the Managing Editor, the Editor-in-Chief handles it.
  4. Reviewers are preferably selected from outside the journal's boards and from outside the author's institution, in line with the conflict-of-interest rules in the Reviewer Guide.
  5. These arrangements are recorded in the submission's history on the platform, and the author's editorial role is disclosed at publication in the interest of transparency.

Reporting Concerns

Any author, reader or academic body may report a breach of this policy by writing to [email protected]. Reports are handled under the journal's procedure for allegations of academic misconduct.
