Women’s Reluctance Crisis in Political Participation (Iraqi Women Rodel)
Abstract
Topic of Iraqi women’s political participation considers one of the most concerning topics that attract the attention of many researchers. In fact, through this research, we have found that this crisis pertaining to social, economic, cultural and political factors, despite the transformation towards democracy and the existence of a constitutional document and electoral systems that guarantee women’s rights, especially the adoption of the quota principle to enhance Opportunities for women to be present in political life as a candidate or as a voter, but this has collided with many challenges on the legal, social, and economic level, which led to the creation of a real crisis of reluctance to participate. Therefore, the means of empowering women on the social, cultural, economic, and political level will contribute to strengthening political participation and the development of the movement development in general.
