Abstract

Conflict around the Nagorno-Karabakh region is one of the most prominent examples of regional conflicts based on the ethnic-cultural background, which are being fed by external interference due to the intersects of international interests. The conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia in September of 2020 re-ignited the map of regional alliances and international support. Introduced each of them, especially as it coincides with important regional and international developments, in light of the outbreak of the new Corona pandemic "Covid-19".

The study aims to shed a light on the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia from the perspective of international interventions related to this conflict, especially on the two axes: Turkey - Azerbaijan, and Russia - Armenia, and the implications of the escalation situation on the tensions between Moscow and Ankara.

As for the extent of Russia and Turkey's intervention in the conflict, the study sets out three scenarios: first, the scenario of military confrontation, second, the scenario of negotiations and solutions, third, and the scenario of proxy war.
