Legal Dimension of the Voting System in UN “General Assembly and Security Council Model”

Abstract

                   The United Nations includes several official bodies, the most prominent of which are the United Nations General Assembly and the United Nations Security Council, both of which constitute the most prominent decision-making cycle of the organization. The organization or its board of directors, which includes countries that are elected periodically to fill these seats, and others that are permanent members, and they represent the group of the five major countries victorious in the World War II, and which have the powers of veto power over Security Council resolutions which makes its role the most dangerous and most important in the decision-making and implementation process. We conclude from the above that there is a clear difference in the extent of the powers granted to the Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations, as the powers of the first were greatly expanded at the expense of the second, and the permanent members were able to thwart most reform projects. The decision-making and voting system in the organization in order to preserve its interests and acquired privileges.
