The Middle East region in general and the eastern Mediterranean in particular are among the regions that have been and still are an arena of global and regional geopolitical conflict throughout the ages، after the discovery of huge reserves of oil and gas in the eastern Mediterranean region. Oil and gas is no longer only an indicator of the state's economic strength، but rather it has become a cause of tension and conflict between countries. The countries of the region are fighting and competing for control of the sources of gas and oil in the region، which threatens to stimulate and renew conflicts such as the Turkish-Cypriot conflict and the Israeli-Lebanese conflict، has become this competitive scene. The study aimed to identify the parties to the conflict in the eastern Mediterranean basin over natural gas، while defining the goals and aspirations of each of these parties، especially since there is a need among many countries of the world، especially the countries of the North، for this clean energy in light of the atmosphere the cold climate you live in. The descriptive analytical approach was used، and the study reached a set of results، the most important of which is that competition for natural gas in the region has taken one form of international competition، and it is expected that international competition will continue in the Mediterranean basin for decades to come، especially in light of the high cost of extracting american natural gas
