Abstract

This scientific paper deals with the merits of the upcoming election period, and a hypothetical analysis of the political scene in Iraq in light of several variables, including the popular movement rejecting the policy of the politicians, the escalation of corruption and the vague and deep state. The writer believes that there must presumably be  a peaceful and reasonable solution to end the crises in the country and get out of the dilemma of rivalry and discord between the Iraqi street and the politicians who ruled the country for 71 years, with failed outcomes. Their policy tired and compelled the Iraqi people.

The paper adopted the concept of 'a new social contract' which implies that political forces must be adapted and /or changed according to the Iraqi society's needs, wellbeing and aspirations. The study identified 3 future scenarios for the situation during the elections, expecting what each of these scenarios would or might produce at the popular and international levels. The study also focuses on the role of media leaders' opinions, being considered as the main influential figures to make change in their social milieu. There are compulsory changes to be taken by the politicians to transform the conflict and achieve a positive internal change such as: an innovated ideology that adopts the reunification towards a political system that works for the benefit of society, not for parties and individuals. Finally, the research concludes with a set of predictions and recommendations for the perceptions of change and the roles of intellectual leaders and the media, so that the scenarios of social contract can conduct its national role, with the participation of new and independent youth forces to lead the country and save it from the storming accumulated crises.
