Abstract

The research addresses France's position on the Zionist movement during the years (1897-1939) and focuses on the French government's stance on the movement, as France supported the Zionist movement in establishing a national homeland for the Jews. The French government played a significant role in forming the initial idea of creating a homeland for the Jews in Palestine through Napoleon Bonaparte's announcement of the idea of establishing a homeland for the Jews on Palestinian land during the French expedition to Egypt in 1798. As a result, the Zionist movement established the basic foundations for the establishment of a national homeland for them, encouraging Jewish immigration from all countries to Palestine, and the French government provided support to the settlers and attacked the Arabs who obstructed the Zionist movement in creating a homeland for them.
