Abstract

Following the grave human rights violations committed by the terrorist ISIS organization against the Yazidi community in the Sinjar district of Mosul, it became necessary to find a remedy to address the crises and problems suffered by the Yazidi community (in particular) in order to achieve their integration into the society of Mosul. Therefore, empowerment policies—consisting of truth-seeking, prosecutions, reparations, and institutional reform—were essential to address the effects of the crisis in the governorate, and to integrate and empower the Yazidi community within the social system, in an effort to highlight their role in restoring political stability in Iraq.
